A COLLAPSING ROOF

The former framing contractor did not use joist hangers to secure the beams. The roof is sagging as a result by over an inch and in danger of collapse!



Previous contractor failed to install joist hangers from the joists to the main carrrying beam. Over time the weight of the roof and paver systems caused the beams to sag an inch. The roof was in danger of collapsing into the living space below! Our carpenters installed the new joist hangers and restored the framing system to support the new roof.



We found these improperly nailed shingles while inspecting a leaking roof. The roof will leak slowly, causing ceiling damage and mildew to form inside of the home. Damage may show up months or several years later due to the slow leaks caused.


Improperly installed shingles fell off the roof less than 6 years after the installation date by a fly by night contractor. The shingles were not cemented in place and the exposed shingles show an insufficient number of nails use! Cheap prices almost always mean low quality and it shows here. Major condominium complex in Mahwah NJ had it's roofs redone 7 years ago. The workmanship was faulty and the roofs are leaking all over the complex. Better to use professional certified roofers. Riedel is redoing the faulty work and guaranteeing the work for 10 years.

FRAMING WORK

Previous contractor unsuccessfully attempted to pitch this NYC roof using 2x4 lumber and wood shims so that it would drain. The roof has been leaking slowly for a long time as water is "ponding" on the roof causing mold and mildew problems in the apartment below.


Riedel Contracting is rebuilding the roof with custom cut tapered 2x8 lumber to properly pitch the roof Roofing work should only be done by licensed, certified and insured manufacturer trained contractors with experienced crews!


Mahwah Condominium complex had their roofs redone 7 years ago. The roofing contractor cut corners and did not flash the joints correctly. AS a result allot of plywood and insulation needs to be replaced. Cheap price is never a good excuse for shoddy workmanship in exchange!
